TRIO Blemish PM Gel Moisturiser 100ML

A light, oil-free moisturiser to help regulate sebum and reduce red/ brown marks overnight. New TRIPLE size 100ml bottle.

Contains:

  • Niacinamide
  • Vitamin C (water and fat soluble)
  • Retinaldehyde
  • Retinol
  • Salicylic acid
  • Alpha arbutin
  • Phytic acid
  • Octadecanoic Acid
  • Ceramides

Why use a gel moisturiser? For oily/acne prone skin, you want to use a non-comedogenic moisturiser (doesn’t clog pores). For this you ideally want a non-fatty moisturiser (oil free), so a light gel-based moisturiser is preferrable, where you know the water content is high & fat content negligible.

Why even moisturise oily skin? Not moisturising the skin can make it feel tight, which triggers sebum production (makes acne worse).

Why use separate AM/PM moisturisers? There are advantages to using some active ingredients at night, and there are other ingredients which you would ideally not want to use during the day. This calls for separate formulations of moisturiser, so ingredient utilisation is optimised for each time period.

AM MOISTURISER – contains: 1. Niacinamide (strengthens skin barrier, safe for day), 2. Sodium ascorbyl phosphate (mops up free radicals triggered by day time UV), 3. Anti-inflammatories to soothe the skin as it is under assault from UV/pollution etc.

PM MOISTURISER – contains: 1. tyrosinase inhibitors (Alpha Arbutin, Retinol, Ferulic acid) to reduce melanin production, which you would not want to wear during the day (makes skin UV sensitive), 2. Ceramides, which are best worn in evening to restore skin overnight.

Why use Skincare by Dr. V's gel moisturiser? The gel moisturisers from other brands are unlikely to contain the active ingredients required to reduce the 3 blemishes or be optimised for skin of colour, as they are primarily just for basic moisturisation.

People of skin of colour with oily skin are more likely to get all 3 acne blemishes: Acne, Post Inflammatory Erythema (red marks) and Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (brown marks). We need to tackle all 3 processes simultaneously.

Irritation can be more problematic for darker skin tones, and therefore it should be avoided where possible. This product is 'NAFE SAFE' to minimise chances of irritation i.e. No Denatured Alcohol, No Fragrance and No Essential Oils.

For people with oily, acne prone skin & 12 years and over.

Not for persons with a history of reactions to skincare products or overly sensitive or damaged skin.

Use 1-2 pumps TRIO BLEMISH PM Gel Moisturiser and massage into the skin.

Use every evening after TRIO BLEMISH Face Wash and Exfoliator (relevant days) for oily skin.

Warning: In general, only apply the products in this range on normal, clean skin, not if cracked/damaged. In the rare event of skin irritation or an allergic skin reaction, please discontinue use and contact your doctor if required.

Side effects: In rare cases, spots may occur for a few days or up to 6 weeks when you first start usage of TRIO Blemish. This is likely to be 'purging' where the vitamin A in the TRIO Blemish products causes skin cell turnover to increase and bring oil/bacteria up to the skin's surface quicker than usual (in oily/acne prone skin).

      1. How long would TRIO Blemish range products last for?

This will vary for each product and person, however, if usage guidelines are followed, the average duration may be 6-8 weeks approx.

      2. Is the TRIO Blemish suitable for pregnancy & breastfeeding?

The range is suitable for pregnancy except for the 'PM Gel Moisturiser' (contains Vitamin A). If unsure or your circumstances vary, please check with your doctor.

      3. Is the TRIO Blemish range suitable for all skin types?

This product range is NOT suitable for dry/sensitive skin.

It is only suitable for oily/acne prone skin or combination/acne prone skin.

People with dry/acne prone skin can use TRIO Blemish Face Wash & AM Gel Moisturiser in the MORNING, and in the EVENING use TRIO Blemish Face Wash & PM Gel & Dr V Cera Pep Moisturiser. They should not use the TRIO Blemish Exfoliator.

      4. What if I have just combination skin (non-acne prone)?

Please try the following protocol if your skin is normal/dry in most areas and oily on the T-zone:

AM & PM please use the Dr. V Daily Range but on the T-zone use the TRIO Blemish Exfoliator INSTEAD OF the Daily Range 'Exfoliate to Glow' product.

5a. Can you use the TRIO Blemish range with Dr. V Hyperpigmentation kits?

      Yes, using the following protocol:

      MORNING:

      1. Wash with TRIO Blemish Face Wash

      2. Apply TRIO Blemish Exfoliator

      3. TRIO Blemish AM Gel Moisturiser.

      EVENING:

      1. TRIO Blemish Face Wash

      2. TRIO Blemish Exfoliator,

      3. Dr. V Facial Pigmentation Kit

      4. TRIO Blemish PM Gel Moisturiser

5b. Can you use the TRIO Blemish range with Dr. V Antioxidant Power Serum?

It's not necessary as there is significant ingredient overlap, but you can use the AO Serum last, after the TRIO Blemish PM Gel Moisturiser if you wish.

5c. Can you mix & match the TRIO Blemish range with Dr. V Daily Range or 3rd party products?

Yes, you can interchange parts of the TRIO Blemish routine with products from other brands or Dr V Daily Range, for example if you only want to use TRIO Blemish cleansers but moisturisers from elsewhere and vice versa.

6a. Can I still use Tretinoin/ topical Acne medications (Duac, Adapalene etc) with TRIO Blemish range?

Yes, same as Facial Pigmentation kit protocol above, but swapping the kit with Tretinoin/medication, and SKIP the evening Exfoliator application.

      So the protocol would be:

      MORNING:

      1. Wash with TRIO Blemish Face Wash

      2. Apply TRIO Blemish Exfoliator

      3. TRIO Blemish AM Gel Moisturiser.

      EVENING:

      1. TRIO Blemish Face Wash

      2. Tretinoin or Acne medication

      3. TRIO Blemish PM Gel Moisturiser

Note: please avoid if skin is sensitive or becomes sensitive after combining these products.

6b. Can I use the TRIO Blemish range whilst on Isotretinoin/Roaccutane?

Only some of the products, you can use the TRIO Blemish Face Wash & AM Gel Moisturiser.

Please do not use the PM Gel or Exfoliator.

6c. Should I still use Niacinamide, Ceramides, Retinol, Vitamin A/C/E serums from other skincare lines in conjunction with the Dr V. TRIO Blemish Range?

No, nothing else required, it's all in the range.

You can try other products with the range, however only you know your skin and what it can tolerate, so some trial & error may be needed.

      7. Is 'purging' likely?

In rare cases, spots may occur for a few days or up to 6 weeks when you first start usage of TRIO Blemish. This is likely to be 'purging' where the vitamin A in the TRIO Blemish products causes skin cell turnover to increase and bring oil/bacteria up to the skin's surface quicker than usual (in oily/acne prone skin).

      8. How long does it take to see results?

You may start to notice beneficial effects in as little as 2-4 weeks, however we advise 8+ weeks to see the full potential, as per the consumer trial results.

      Great so far

I’ve been using PM cream for almost a month now . Skin looks a lot brighter, i probably need to use it for longer to see if the acne scars fade.

Beautiful gel moisturiser with great ingredients

I have dry skin so normally don’t use gel moisturisers but got this because of all the great anti pigmentation ingredients which isn’t in the Cerapep. I really like it, it feels like a nice cooling gel and is more hydrating than expected. I do have to use a lotion underneath and top it off with a sleeping mask due to my dry skin type, but I think for normal and oily skin it would be great, especially with all the tyrosinase inhibitors. I would love a similar product for dry skin, a cream moisturiser with these tyrosinase inhibitors too, that would be awesome.

      Awesome

I was having acne for few months , though I did not have acne problem in my life before . I had some reddish , brown hyperpigmentation which seems to be fading with this moisturiser. My skin is not oily . I am using this to lighten those marks and it seems to be working . And I am not breaking out any more . And I trust Dr V and will be purchasing her product in future

      Not disappointed at all

I've only been using this for about a week now and I can honestly say my skin texture and overall appearance has improved. I don't have acne. I only purchased this because I was looking for somthing to help even out my skin tone as I've got some brown sports too. I use this along with the exfoliate and glow at night and the cerapap in the morning. My face gas never looked better :)

I don’t know if Dr.V changed the formulation of this from when it was in the smaller bottle but i feel like my skin was doing well when i used that earlier. Now my skin doesn’t seem to like this product anymore and i’m not sure why! Also, one suggestion I would give for improvement is that a lot of product comes out when you pump once from this bigger sized version. I understand everyone has different face shapes etc, but if you have more surface area you can just pump more product whereas the opposite is not possible!

      Major improvement

I’ve been using the trio blemish line along with inzincable for over a year now. I also add a low dose of tretinoin nightly after applying my pm gel. This routine has improved the texture of my skin and has dramatically lessened the appearance of red marks and fine lines. I breakout less around my cycle, and when I do get a pimple, it heals faster than usual. My makeup application looks more flawless and I don’t get as oily throughout the day.

      ☺️

Haven’t tried this night moisturiser yet but I’m sure it’s going to be just as good as the cera pep one! It’s been a couple of months since I bought my first bottle and I still have some left but I’ve already purchased my second bottle. So good that I won’t be using any other moisturiser ever again🥰Keeps my skin even, healthy & doesn’t break me out. My skin also doesn’t hyper pigment as quickly & easily as it did before. Looking forward to trying out other products by dr v 🥰

      Gel moisturiser

I have oily skin. I noticed less blackheads since I started using this gel moisturiser. It does not leave my skin oily. Absorbs well into the skin.

      Perfect PM gel

Only been using this gel for 2/3 weeks yet has already made a huge improvement. This gel has literally cleared my dry, acne prone and blemished skin. Great gel for hydrating, helping brighten and clear skin.
